Your dental professional has told you to buy toothpastes with 1000-1500 parts per million (ppm), however when you get to the supermarket and look at the side of the toothpaste packet, the amount of fluoride that is in the toothpaste is labelled as %w/w (weight by weight – the proportion of a fluoride in the entire mixture).
